The following websites will be demonstrated over the next few days. You will use them to develop some baseline reasearch about a few of the topics that you have begun to select for a feature article.

For the best statistical research website in teh world and one which many newspaper use to generate a gross number of stories from.

COLORADO SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT
For a local resource about crime and local statistics that can be used to highlight any story.
Especially the statistics link, but much of the information is olderthan 2 years.

PIKES PEAK PUBLIC LIBRARY
For a local resource about crime and local statistics that can be used to highlight any story.

EL PASO COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
This is a good site for local health statistics and data. Look under data/stats and then follow a link to the Colorado Department of health data sets. From there you can search teens directly.

FOX21PREP ZONE or VARVEE.COM
If you are interested in doing a sport stroy and need to find out specific data about teams and individuals, these sites seem to be keeping the best and most accessible facts in Colorado.

NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO
By far one of the best and most diverse sources of legitimate news available.
